
Well, today the car got put into the line to be painted. With 4 new downdraft booths at the
body shop the line should move quickly. As you can see, the inner wheel tub did need to be replaced, which required bonding into place, as
KY Dave pointed out in the
last installment,
The old crushed inner wheel tub is seen laying on the trash bin in the third picture.
The last holdup is the front wheel. I think it's too bent to use again, I think it's unsafe. Safeco doesn't agree and wants to send it to a wheel shop to be repaired. At 785.80 a pop I can understand thier wanting to be sure, but this guy's but is not going to drive even one mile on that wheel. It's a thin spoke and far too prone to cracking.
We'll see where that goes. Good news is that I can see the end in sight.
